As a Medical Assistant, you will provide both clinical and administrative support within outpatient psychiatry services. You'll assist providers and nursing staff, perform phlebotomy and lab-related duties, support patient check-in and clinic flow, and help coordinate care across teams. This role blends hands-on patient care, organization, and communication to ensure a seamless and supportive experience for every individual served.

Key Responsibilities: • Support patients throughout their clinic experience by assisting with check-in, rooming, and ensuring accurate medical information is collected • Perform phlebotomy, lab testing, and injections while maintaining high standards of care and safety • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered services • Prepare patients and exam rooms for procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and supplies are ready • Monitor and communicate patient health updates, lab results, and provider instructions to appropriate team members • Assist with scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, and maintaining organized patient charts • Coordinate care activities including hospital visits, discharge planning, and follow-up care with the RN and interdisciplinary teams • Travel to residential locations as needed to complete health reviews, audits, and support patient care needs • Maintain medical supplies, equipment, and inventory, including proper documentation such as temperature logs • Provide education and guidance to patients to help them effectively utilize clinic services • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and assist with basic housekeeping duties • Participate in team meetings, training, and additional duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Licensed Practical Nurse in the applicable state • CPR certification preferred • Phlebotomy training and prior lab experience preferred • At least one year of experience in a physician office or clinical setting preferred
Additional Qualifications: • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and maintain professionalism • Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple platforms • Ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and team members • Demonstrated adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following all safeguarding protocols • Ability to interpret and document information accurately within electronic health records • Basic math and problem-solving abilities • Willingness to follow direction and accept supervision
Physical Requirements • Perform sedentary work involving sitting for extended periods with occasional standing or walking • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally when lifting, carrying, or moving objects or assisting individuals • Complete repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements such as typing and writing throughout the workday
