Patient Reception & Customer Service Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in person and by phone. Answer all calls professionally and courteously. Provide clear explanations of MRI procedures, expectations, and wait times. Monitor the waiting area, offering updates, comfort, and support
Patient Preparation & Clinical Support Escort patients to changing rooms and MRI suites. Perform preliminary screening, including medical history, MRI safety questionnaires, and implant verification. Provide pre and post-procedure instructions as directed by technologists. Assist technologists with patient positioning, immobilization, and comfort measures. Respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
Workflow, Equipment & Supply Support Maintain a clean, organized, and safe MRI work environment. Stock linens, coils, supplies, and contrast materials as appropriate. Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
Scheduling, Documentation & Electronic Systems Schedule MRI appointments and obtain insurance verification/authorization. Ensure accuracy of patient records and visit documentation. Prepare medical records for technologists, radiologists, and patients. Upload outside imaging and merge into PACS or Power Share. Assist with image delivery via PACS, digitizer, or disc burner. Perform Meditech functions such as entering orders, processing history, and film sign-out. Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
Education And Related Experience Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical terminology knowledge. Strong organizational, communication, and telephone skills.
Preferred:
Experience in radiology, MRI, or patient-facing clinical support. PC-based computer skills and familiarity with Meditech, PACS, or imaging systems.
