Performs the full scope of core responsibilities within the Student Records Office, including the entry, review, and maintenance of student and academic records in alignment with institutional, state, and federal regulations. Verifies, audits, and updates student records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity for both curriculum and continuing education populations. Processes a wide range of student record transactions such as registration changes, withdrawals, program updates, and grade submissions in coordination with office procedures. Participates in the compilation and submission of institutional, state, and federal reports by analyzing, validating, and organizing student data in collaboration with colleagues. Supports the implementation and monitoring of records retention schedules and compliance protocols, ensuring adherence to legal and institutional standards. Functions as an active user of student information systems and college technologies, assisting with troubleshooting, documenting processes, and recommending improvements. Maintains a strong working knowledge of FERPA and other applicable laws, ensuring strict confidentiality and protection of student records at all times. Engages in process reviews and team-based problem-solving to continuously improve workflow, service delivery, and operational efficiency. Acts as a collaborative team member, contributing to the achievement of departmental goals and supporting cross-functional projects within the Student Records Office. Participates fully in department meetings, training opportunities, and institutional events to remain informed and actively engaged in the life of the College. Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness and mission of the Registrar's Office and Davidson-Davie Community College. Your attributesMinimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university One year of experience working in a student records, registrar's office, or related higher education environment. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university Two or more years of experience working in a Registrar's Office or student records environment in a college or university setting. Experience working at a Community College Experience in student services responsibilities within a higher education setting, such as data entry, student record updates, error correction, record auditing, and state and federal reporting. Previous experience working within the North Carolina Community College System technologies (Colleague, Informer, Advansys, etc.) Knowledge of FERPA and best practices related to records retention, data integrity, and compliance. Familiarity with state and federal reporting requirements related to student data. Work environment ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
