Transcribe dictation, medical information, and a variant of other reports from electronic dictation system or written text demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness. Dispatches completed reports to appropriate destinations. Verifies accuracy of correction punctuation, grammar, and spelling. Prioritizes workload to ensure timeliness of transcription with established procedure. Communicate with physicians to confirm dictation questions. Answers telephone and gives routine information in accordance with established procedure. Faxes, photocopies and performs miscellaneous office duties such as reception duties, assisting physicians, greeting patients, filing, processing requisitions, process documents and forms. Organizes and maintains files, sorts, pulls, moves, and files, etc. Complies with standard hospital policies and department procedures. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Technical Certificate One year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
