Essential Responsibilities:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer works directly with all coaches in the administration of their programs regarding health care for the student-athletes (ex. medical clearances reports, physical exams, physician referrals, insurance and consent forms, safety equipment) and with student-athletes. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing quality health services to student-athletes, serving as a liaison between the athlete and the physician, representing the Department of Athletics as Title IX representative with our campus Title IX Coordinator, and performing other College duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible assisting with day-to-day administrative duties and supervision of athletic training area as a whole.
Physical Demands: Moderate activity; must be able to work effectively with student-athletes and lift up to 20-lbs on occasion. Extensive periods of sitting/standing may be required. Travel: As needed; may transport student-athlete(s) to medical care facilities. Some travel may be needed with various sports. Master's Degree and Board Certification (NATA) Athletic Training Must adhere to the philosophy of Sweet Briar College and NCAA Division III rules CPR/AED certification Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy Ability to interact with all levels of the Sweet Briar College community Ability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends Candidate must have a valid driver's license and meet college's insurability standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years working in the collegiate setting, or related field
