Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state. Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundhere. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Administers and documents medicationsin accordance with physician orders, nursing protocols, and facility policies, ensuring accuracy, safety, and accountability in all medication distribution processes.
Prepares, organizes, and assists with multidisciplinary clinics, including general practice, gynecology, dental, dermatology, and psychiatric clinics as needed. Supports providers during examinations and procedures by preparing equipment, positioning patients, and maintaining sterile technique.
Conducts routine patient roundsto observe, assess, and document patients’ physical conditions, behaviors, and responses to treatment. Identifies changes in health status, ensures continuity of care, and communicates findings promptly to supervising medical staff.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: JOB APPOINTMENT
A job appointment is a temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non-temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process.
If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment.
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Practical Nurse Licensed 1 has an SER of $19 .48 per hour
Practical Nurse Licensed 2 has an SER of $20.84 per hour
Practical Nurse Licensed 3 has an SER of $22.30 per hour
This position also offers premium pay:A rate of$5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay. Career Progression Group : PRACTICAL NURSE LICENSED 1, 2, OR 3
Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.
Salary depends on level of experience.
