Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) The Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN or GN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN or GN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Intensive Care Unit, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Work Shift: Night Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Compensation Range: $40.52 - $57.48 per hour, depending on experience Sign-on Incentive: Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000. Job Responsibilities
Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned
Education/Experience Minimum Required:
A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
License/Certification Minimum Required:
Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN
Preferred:
Professional certification in a related nursing specialty Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.
