Phlebotomists/Processor Located at Wayne Hospital (Greenville, OH) Part Time Day Shift - Varied start time from 5:30am to 8:30am and varied end time from 2pm to 5pm AND Rotation of every 3rd weekend and every 3rd dayshift holiday Working approximately 20 hours per week Position Summary: The Phlebotomists/Processor collects, transports, and processes laboratory specimens. Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures. Accurately label and prepare specimens for testing or transport. Complete requisitions and manage specimen receipt using computer systems. Deliver specimens to testing areas. Maintain equipment and assist with problem-solving related to patient draws and orders. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies. Conduct inventory checks, train new employees, and maintain a safe work environment. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science is preferred.
Safety & Physical Demands:
Ability to walk 5-7 miles daily and stand for entire shift. Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals. Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies. Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas. Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly. Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards, promoting safety awareness.
