Registered Nurse - Birthing Care Unit This is a 13-week contract position. Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule from 18:45 to 07:15. The Birthing Care Unit is a fast-paced and high-acuity environment. The unit handles over 300 births per month, and the RN will be responsible for providing care for obstetrical patients, including those in high-risk antepartum and postpartum stages. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and experienced in managing double labor assignments on a daily basis. Responsibilities:
Perform sterile vaginal exams and provide immediate newborn care. Circulate for Cesarean births and support labor and delivery processes. Monitor and assess the health and status of patients during labor and delivery. Conduct antenatal fetal surveillance, medication administration, and intravenous hydration. Participate in obstetrical triage and care for high-risk patients.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume labor and delivery setting; 3 years preferred. Experience with >300 births per month required. Current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications. Competency in circulating for C-sections and immediate newborn care.
