This opportunity builds on the foundation of WardJet’s North American waterjet sales leadership role, with an updated focus on commercial execution, team development, disciplined solution selling, and market expansion. The Sales Director will lead the North American outside sales organization, manage a team of 5 direct reports , and work closely with the VP of Sales & Marketing and cross-functional partners to develop and execute growth strategies.
WardJet is part of AAG, a North American manufacturer of CNC waterjets, routers, and knife systems serving a broad range of manufacturing industries. WardJet supports customers across markets, including metal fabrication, aerospace, foam converting, stone, glass, defence, job shops, and education, with a strong focus on customer service and application support.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage WardJet’s outside sales organization across the U.S. and Canada
Develop and execute sales strategies focused on revenue growth , market expansion, and increased market share
Coach, mentor, and develop a team of 5 direct reports , creating a culture of accountability, development, and strong customer focus
Drive a disciplined solution-selling approach across the sales team to improve consistency, efficiency, and commercial performance
Maximize WardJet’s current market footprint while identifying and leading expansion into new opportunities across North America
Build and strengthen relationships with customers, distributors, and strategic partners throughout the region
Travel regularly within local markets to stay close to customers, understand market trends, and uncover growth opportunities
Support direct selling activities on key opportunities and major accounts
Develop sales forecasts, monitor business results, and track KPIs against budget and performance goals
Provide reporting, analysis, and recommendations to executive leadership, including forecast updates, budget input, and key initiative progress
Partner closely with Product Management to support the rollout of new products and features
Work cross-functionally with Marketing to coordinate campaigns, promotional events, and initiatives that support sales growth
Collaborate with applications, service, operations, and leadership teams to ensure a strong customer experience and effective sales execution
Help improve the consistency of the selling model, sales process discipline, CRM usage, and opportunity management across the team
Qualifications
7+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in capital equipment, fabrication equipment, CNC machinery, waterjet systems, or other industrial manufacturing technology
Proven success leading outside sales teams and delivering measurable revenue growth
Strong background in consultative, technical, or solution-based selling with long-cycle, high-value sales opportunities
Strong technical aptitude required , including the ability to understand industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, and application-based selling environments
Must be capable of selling complex engineered solutions , not simple transactional products or commodity devices
Demonstrated ability to learn and communicate technical product capabilities, customer applications, and value-based solutions to a wide range of stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop sales professionals across North American territories
Experience building forecasts, monitoring KPIs, and using sales data to guide action and improve performance
Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work effectively across departments in a professional, performance-driven corporate environment
Proficiency with CRM systems, pipeline management, and sales forecasting tools
Willingness and ability to travel approximately twice per month
Preferred Experience
Experience in waterjet systems, CNC equipment, cutting systems, fabrication machinery, or related capital equipment
Familiarity with customers in metal fabrication, aerospace, foam converting, stone, glass, defence, job shops, and education
Experience with industrial aftermarket parts or service-related sales
Exposure to both the U.S. and Canadian markets
Formal training in solution selling or similar consultative sales methodologies
Strong organizational, writing, and project-prioritization skills
Passport and ability to travel internationally as needed
