Answer and manage incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff or department. Perform insurance checks accurately, including verifying coverage and benefits, and communicating relevant information to patients or internal teams. Provide reliable administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations within the office. Deliver courteous and responsive customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues, addressing questions and concerns with professionalism. Assist with general administrative tasks such as scheduling, organizing information, and maintaining orderly records as needed. Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff, adapting to multiple priorities and directions throughout the day. Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance to support reliable office coverage during business hours. Uphold a patient-centered approach in all interactions, contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment.
Essential Skills
Proven administrative support experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting (MA experience preferred). Strong administrative skills, including organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Reliable and punctual work habits, with a strong sense of responsibility and dependability. Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone and in person. Comfort with handling phones and managing a high volume of calls in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to learn and follow office procedures related to insurance checks and patient support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Medical assistant (MA) Experience or experience working in a clinical or patient-centered environment is preferred. Interest in working within a clinically led organization that emphasizes internal advancement and professional growth. Availability to commit to a 3–4 month maternity leave assignment with potential for longer-term engagement.
Work Environment This role is based in an office setting in West Hartford and follows a standard daytime schedule, typically 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
