Includes care of patient drains, tubes, special equipment, ADL's, mobility, Hospital Information System proficiency, I & O, response in emergency. Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system. Organizational Skills: Uses appropriate organization, priority setting and problem solving skills. Communication: Communicates clearly and effectively using proper communication etiquette and manages multiple phone and intercom lines. Uses medical terminology accurately. Includes reporting abnormal or change in patient condition to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality. Self Development: Accountable for self-directed learning and participation in continuing education to meet own professional development. Completes mandatory education timely.
6 months experience, within last 3 years has experience in a acute care hospital setting, or healthcare clinic, skilled nursing facility, or home health setting as a Care or Nurse Assistant, medical assistant or nursing, student with one semester in clinical setting, or complete hospital patient care training American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
