Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary tests, and creating customized care approaches Diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic illnesses, working collaboratively with physicians or autonomously, depending on your credentials Guiding patients and their families on health promotion, preventive measures, and disease management strategies Prescribing appropriate medications and treatments in line with your professional scope Participating in ongoing patient follow-up and chronic illness management Engaging in teamwork across different specialties to ensure comprehensive patient care Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) The Credentials You Need
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Essential Certifications
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialization Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to secure within 90 days) What Makes You Stand Out
