Maintains a state of readiness to respond by ensuring equipment, tools, and protective equipment are in a response-ready condition. Maintains NREMT, DC Department of Health EMT, and AHA/ASHE CPR healthcare provider certifications and any other deemed necessary to be successful Ability to physically respond to a medical emergency throughout an area and perform work that may involve strenuous physical tasks, including during hazardous conditions and/or inclement weather. Ability to move 100 pounds to a height of 4 feet and carry 100 pounds, a minimum of 6 feet. Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, and walk on uneven surfaces. Has the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Cooperates and communicates well with others including employees, customers, patients, emergency medical services, police departments, fire departments, etc. Completes daily shift duties, Care reports, pay sheets, read E-mail, etc. Efficiently operates computer equipment and software programs used. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate good judgment and good critical thinking skills Ability to use personal protective equipment properly including the ability to wear respiratory protection equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience: Current and valid nationally recognized certification as an EMT Current and valid CPR certification for Healthcare Providers A minimum of 1 year of EMT experience
Physical Requirements
Stand, reach, and walk for long periods of time in a field setting. Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. as part of the role. Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment. Requires manual dexterity to operate role-specific equipment.
