What you'll do: As a Dental and Business Assistant you will work to enhance the daily operations of the clinic by providing excellent care and communication to our patients. Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
Prepares, sterilizes, disinfects, and maintains dental equipment, instruments, and supplies Collects and records patient health histories and x-rays Ensures patient comfort during dental procedures Completes charting of treatment information in the patients' dental notes from the doctor as directed Assist doctor in management of medical and dental emergencies Delivers postoperative and general oral care instructions to patient Maintains infection control procedures, patient privacy, and professional interactions with patients and staff Assist administrative team with customer service functions Patient Relations & Front Office Responsibilities: Greet and welcome patients in a warm, positive, and professional manner. Handle patient records confidentially and respectfully, adhering to all HIPAA privacy standards. Answer phones courteously using excellent customer service skills; relay messages accurately. Promptly respond to voicemails, emails, and texts from patients. Provide clear instructions, directions, and thorough answers to patient questions. • Schedule patient appointments and maintain an organized daily schedule. Create and manage new patient accounts in the Practice Management System. Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits. Coordinate communication and workflow between front office and clinical staff. Manage unscheduled treatment plans and recall lists. Place appointment reminder calls, texts, or emails. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized front reception area. Assist in coordinating temporary staffing coverage as needed. Review treatment plans with patients and explain treatment and payment options.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a Dental Assistant with front desk knowledge/insurance Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting Program or dental assistant experience preferred but not required Previous customer service or office experience Proficiency or the ability to become proficient within 90 days in dental terminology and dental software for charting, treatment planning, clinical notes, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills Foster a positive attitude and be a team player
Patient Care Hours: Monday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Why Green Bay?
