Gathers medications to be distributed to departments and omnicell. Delivers medications and requested items to departments and omnicell. Prepares IV admixtures and delivers to med rooms. Gathers medications to be delivered to patient drawers. Maintain patient records. Communicates effectively with healthcare providers and nursing. Performs monthly unit inspections as assigned. Performs Home Medication Reconciliations on all admitted patients. Miscellaneous clerical duties. Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the SHINE Behavior Standards. Promotes the Patient Safety Standards as a core value of the organization.
Other Duties
Supplies medications for area paramedic boxes. Participates in departmental and association wide informational meetings and inservices, including staff meetings, association wide forums, and seminars. Reviews department and association wide policies and procedures annually. Develops and maintains new policies and procedures as needed.
Abilities This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic techniques and compounding, and operational knowledge of general equipment and office equipment in the Pharmacy department, including: fax, printer, phone systems, computer, and commonly used hospital computer programs (including Hospital Information Systems, MS Office, e-mail, and internet). Must be service oriented, have excellent math skills, communication skills, customer service skills, organizational skills, multitasking skills, professional interpersonal skills, time management skills, the ability to prioritize work, and telephone etiquette. Physical Demands Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of Sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Worker is exposed to extensive computer work. infectious fluids, heavy lifting, constant standing, extensive close work, and extensive computer work. Required Education and Experience AZ State Board of Pharmacy Technician License OSHA Exposure Category: Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and are not a condition of employment.
