Job Description Job Summary: Evaluate and treat patients with functional deficits resulting from illness, injury, musculoskeletal issues, or birth defects. Work independently or under physician or licensed practitioner orders across outpatient, acute, and post-acute care settings, delivering tailored rehabilitation programs. Responsibilities:
Assess patients to identify needs, age-related problems, strengths, and rehabilitation potential, with periodic reevaluation. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, physician orders, and clinical judgment. Supervise and delegate treatment tasks to PTAs and support staff, ensuring proper application and monitoring outcomes while maintaining legal responsibility. Coordinate care plans with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, providing education on disease, injury, recovery, and self-care. Document all treatment activities, assessments, and patient progress accurately in medical records. Serve as a clinical instructor or mentor for PT and PTA students, fostering clinical growth and education. Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience, with acute care experience preferred. Valid Michigan PT license and active American Heart Association BLS certification. Proven experience treating a diverse patient population, including joint replacements, neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, trauma, and critical care. Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and documentation skills. Ability to supervise and delegate effectively to support staff and students. Benefits & Growth:
