Description
Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods. Craft individualized treatment plans that target both immediate goals and ongoing needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions, focusing on various aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop cohesive care approaches. Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond the clinic. Occasionally support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and therapies to ensure a seamless continuum of care. Document patient progress meticulously, adhering to all regulatory and organizational standards. Keep abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer collaboration. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA is not obtained yet. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within 30 days of starting employment. Skills
Deep understanding of evidence-based treatment for all age groups, with expertise in developmental and acquired language and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
