8a-4p Summary: Primary responsibility is the accessioning and non-technical processing of pathology specimens, filing of blocks and slides, answering phones, delivering prepared samples to pathologists, inventory replenishment and basic workbench cleaning. Responsibilities: EDUCATION
High school graduate AAS degree preferred EXPERIENCE
One (1) year education, training or experience involving Administrative Assistant/Medical Office courses or experience in hospital Laboratory setting preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
Outstanding customer service skills Ability to work safely with infectious and/or hazardous materials Present self in a confident and professional manner to all personnel and public Ability to work with various computer software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work as part of a team within the department and other ancillary areas, including pathologists, coworkers, and other physicians WORKING CONDITIONS ENVIROMENT Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
