As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Houston's diverse and dynamic neighborhoods, your impact will extend far beyond managing communication and swallowing disorders. You will be a catalyst for change, helping individuals discover their voice, regain confidence, and foster connections that span generations - from young children articulating their first sentences to older adults reclaiming autonomy in their daily lives. This role presents a unique chance to touch the lives of individuals at various life stages within a framework that combines outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient care. Description

Create tailored treatment plans targeting immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish unified care strategies. Facilitate education for patients and their families to promote progress between clinical visits. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient journey. Keep meticulous and punctual documentation consistent with state, federal, and institutional standards. Commit to ongoing professional development through continuing education and peer collaboration. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified. Certifications
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within 30 days of starting employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic practices for all age groups, demonstrating a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Ability to adjust therapeutic approaches to accommodate a wide array of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols. Benefits
Attractive salary reflective of experience. Flexible scheduling options to support work-life harmony and diverse caseloads. Specialization opportunities available in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday compensation. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages. Support for continuing education and professional advancement opportunities. Collaborative team atmosphere centered around providing high-quality care and fostering continuous learning.
