Master's degree in Speech & Language Pathology State of Michigan Licensure Certificate of Clinical Competency from the ASHA (CCC-SLP) Meets school-based speech provider qualifications as outlined in the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) Proficient with the use of technology Excellent oral and written communication skills High moral character and excellent attendance record Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents, and the community Ability to handle high volume of work, multiple tasks under strict timelines and frequent interruptions Pleasant disposition, neat appearance, self-initiating and ability to work in harmony with other employees
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultation services to eligible individuals from birth through age 26 Design and implement speech & language related elements of each child/student's IEP Provide consultation and training to staff and parents in support of IEP goals Screen and conduct comprehensive evaluations within scope of practice to assist teams in determining eligibility for special education services Participate in a variety of team meetings within school and community settings to assist in identifying eligible children and support their full access to education Ensure frequent progress monitoring of all speech & language goals and report progress regularly as required Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to include student attendance, service logs, and required Medicaid submissions Contribute time and expertise to the regional school-based speech & language professionals' group Serve as requested as a building level coach in areas within the scope of practice such as AAC, PODD, and/or START Maintain high degree of confidentiality in program operation and with student/staff information Coordinate workflow, establish priorities and allocation of work to meet deadlines As needed for completion of duties, attend meetings outside of normal working hours and travel within ISD and state. Remain free of substance abuse and/or illegal drug use at all times while an employee of the EUPISD Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Wages and Fringes: Commensurate with EUPIEA Master Agreement. Period of Employment: School year, 190 days
