Role Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients from pediatric to adult and geriatric populations utilizing standardized tests and observation techniques. Create individualized treatment strategies that align with both short-term and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Implement tailored speech therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing abilities. Partner with other healthcare providers-including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family caregivers, and other stakeholders-to develop cohesive and holistic care plans. Educate patients and their families to foster ongoing improvement outside the clinical setting. Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for all patients. Maintain precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Engage in continued learning to stay informed about advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaborative efforts with peers. Educational Qualifications
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of an ASHA-accredited Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already certified. Licensures and Certifications
Valid state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment. Essential Skills
