Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your role as an Administrative Diet Clerk will be vital in supporting patient nutrition and meal services. This position involves ensuring patients receive timely diet screenings, accurate meal selections based on prescribed diet orders, and proper documentation to maintain food service quality. Key Responsibilities
Communicate any issues related to patient diets, meal appropriateness, and patient preferences that may impact nutritional intake. Maintain and update patient menus, nutritional analyses, dietary allergies, and diet orders with accuracy. Collaborate with patients and nursing staff to clarify diet instructions and modifications. Verify food temperatures before meal service and check meal tray accuracy to ensure quality standards. Assist in passing patient trays during meal times and prepare/deliver snacks as needed. Report any patient or diet concerns to dietitians promptly. Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Experience At least six months of experience in healthcare food services is preferred. Requirements
Strong mental focus for repetitive tasks over extended periods. Ability to stand and walk for long durations. Basic reading and writing skills. Willingness to learn procedures related to patient feeding and diet modifications. Capability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds during shifts.
Working Conditions Work environment includes shared office and food service areas that may be warm and crowded. Exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, heat, noise, wet floors, hot steam, chemicals, and sharp objects is possible. The role requires adaptability to busy and sometimes noisy patient care settings.
