Supporting a network optimization and decommissioning program, the remote Contract Network Engineer III will manage circuit provisioning, grooming, and decommissioning in live telecom environments, requiring hands-on experience with network equipment and Layer 1 technologies. Key responsibilities
Provision, groom, and decommission circuits to support network optimization initiatives Execute cross-connect changes and perform circuit turn-ups and turn-downs within live network environments Validate circuit paths and coordinate with field technicians and internal teams for migration work
Required qualifications
8+ years of hands-on telecom network provisioning experience in live environments Strong background in network turn-downs, traffic migration, grooming, activations, and maintenance execution Demonstrated experience with Layer 1/TDM technologies including SONET and TDM Copper Hands-on experience with transport and switching equipment, particularly Ciena 6500 Experience working in central office or transport network environments
