POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Located in Laval, the Domaine des Forges residence offers a friendly and stimulating work environment. We are hiring caring individuals with a strong team spirit and a commitment to customer service. Permanent part-time position for weekends only (one weekend out of two), 3 to 4 hours per day (Saturday, Sunday), daytime hours from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the possibility of additional hours as needed.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
  • Carry out clinical assessments of residents and update treatment plans according to their specific needs
  • Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in the residents Dossier in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ)
  • Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
  • Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Participate in health assessments of new residents or whenever it is required
  • Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents
  • Provide a range of nursing care and treatments in order to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
  • Respond to all emergency situations
  • Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • PDSB training
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • Member of the OIIAQ
  • Knowledge of senior living residences is a major asset.
