Perform thorough patient evaluations, order essential diagnostic procedures, and develop tailored care strategies Identify and manage acute, episodic, and chronic conditions in collaboration with other healthcare professionals or independently (depending on your credentials) Educate patients and their families about preventive measures, wellness, and health management Prescribe necessary medications and therapeutic interventions aligned with your scope of practice Engage in ongoing patient follow-ups and chronic care initiatives Work within interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive, comprehensive patient care Accurately document patient interactions in electronic medical record systems (EMR) Essential Education
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner education program Required Credentials
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Hawaii National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (or willingness to obtain within 90 days) Qualities That Distinguish You
