Conduct thorough evaluations across a range of ages, employing both standardized assessments and observational methods. Create tailored treatment plans that aim to meet both immediate and long-standing communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions tailored to focus on communication, language mastery, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques. Partner closely with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop comprehensive care plans. Provide educational support to patients and families to enhance therapeutic progress outside of clinical hours. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, maintaining seamless care throughout the patient's recovery journey. Keep meticulous records that comply with state, federal, and organizational regulations. Engage in ongoing professional development and peer discussions to stay updated with best practices in the field. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA. Licensing & Certifications
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first 30 days post-hire. Skills & Expertise
Knowledge of evidence-based practices suitable for all age groups, with proficiency in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Ability to modify therapeutic techniques to respect and embrace cultural and linguistic diversity. Strong analytical skills and clinical reasoning.
