Über

Ophthalmology Scribe We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmology Scribe with 2 - 3 years of experience for a busy practice in the metropolitan area. This individual is responsible for providing accurate documentation and summarization of the ocular examination and recommendations while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status. The primary goal of the ophthalmic scribe is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician in the clinic setting. The scribe must be able to anticipate physician needs, communicate clearly to patients and staff members, and effectively multitask to facilitate clinic flow. This will be a hybrid position after completing a 30-day in-person orientation and training in our DC and Rockville locations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as they are being performed by the physician. List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the physician. Provide patients and/or family members with instructions for self-care and follow-up as directed by the physician. Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays. Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities determined by the office manager, team lead, and doctor(s).
Qualifications & Skills
2-3 years of experience as an Ophthalmology or Medical Scribe required Ability to work under pressure and complete assigned tasks under stressful situations Computer literacy with the ability to type 45+ wpm Ability to work in dimly light setting Ability to communicate effectively with others and use good listening skills Ability to work Monday - Friday and weekends; flexibility required. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (follow HIPAA guidelines) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
