Description
Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods. Create tailored treatment plans to meet both immediate and long-term communication, cognition, or swallowing goals. Deliver specialized speech therapy interventions concentrating on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions. Work collaboratively alongside a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, caregivers, and family members to forge unified treatment strategies. Provide educational materials and sessions for patients and their families to bolster progress beyond therapy. Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring seamless care and support throughout treatment. Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Engage in ongoing education and collaborate with peers to stay abreast of developments in the field. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting. Skills
Deep understanding of evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, with an aptitude for developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges. Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities when engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Capability to adjust therapeutic methods to cater to a spectrum of cultural and linguistic needs. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
