Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments Record and update patient information accurately in the electronic health record Measure and document vital signs and other basic clinical information as directed Assist providers during patient visits and minor procedures Support scheduling, patient check-in, and follow-up communications Answer phones, route messages, and provide courteous assistance to patients and visitors Maintain clean, organized, and stocked exam rooms and clinical work areas Handle routine administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and managing forms Adhere to safety, privacy, and confidentiality standards at all times Perform other related duties as assigned to support the care team
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a medical assistant training program or relevant experience preferred Certification or registration as a medical assistant may be preferred or required depending on location Basic understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organization, multitasking, and time-management abilities Ability to maintain professionalism, accuracy, and patient confidentiality Comfort using computers and electronic health record systems
Preferred Attributes
Experience working in a clinic, physician office, urgent care, or other healthcare setting Knowledge of front office and back office clinical workflows A patient-centered approach with a calm and supportive demeanor Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team
