Job Description: InGenesis is currently seeking a Healthcare Associate to work with our client. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and processing patient referrals from medical providers for specialty care, lab tests, and procedures. This role involves identifying appropriate referral resources based on patient insurance/program status, entering referrals into the tracking system, and monitoring the status of referrals through to appointment completion and results receipt. Essential Responsibilities:Receive and process patient referrals from medical providers for specialty care, lab tests, and procedures. Identify appropriate referral resources based on patient insurance/program status; enter into referral tracking system for specialty appointments. Document and notify patients of referral status. Monitor referral status until appointments are made and patients are notified. Ensure that results from specialty providers are received following appointment completion. Run referral tracking system reports to track open appointments and referrals and make follow-up appointments as necessary. Work a flexible schedule and overtime, as necessary. Secondary Responsibilities:Perform miscellaneous clerical tasks including typing, filing, answering phones, mailing, copying, translating, reception, and other clerical support services. Attend workshops, training, and meetings as needed and requested. Support patient and client objectives, which may require working at other locations within a 50-mile radius. Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of customer service experience. One year of medical office experience working with insurances and utilizing medical terminology. One year of experience using a medical database program that includes entering, deleting, and reporting on the patient database. Bilingual; Spanish highly desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience working with medical insurance and/or medical referrals. Community or Public Health experience. Medical practice management system experience, EPIC preferred. Work Conditions:Travel locally to visit other sites. May require day or overnight trips to attend events. The workload may be demanding at times. Requires professionalism and confidentiality. Physical Demands:Sitting, walking, and standing associated with a normal medical/clinical office environment. May include lifting, carrying, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, and bending. Manual dexterity used for standard office equipment and computer keyboard. Frequently required to operate a computer and file and retrieve written documents. Reading and writing to review records for accuracy.
