Perform thorough patient evaluations, which include physical examinations and a comprehensive look at medical histories Aid in assessing and diagnosing surgical conditions by analyzing imaging and lab findings Work intimately with surgeons to craft and implement individualized surgical treatment strategies Provide essential support during surgery, such as preparing the OR, ensuring proper patient positioning, and skillfully passing instruments Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care, encompassing medication management, wound treatment, discharge planning, and educational outreach to patients Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgical practice is strongly preferred Certifications
Current and valid PA-C certification BLS and ACLS certifications required State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant Skills Required
Strong understanding of surgical protocols and maintaining sterile environments Demonstrated ability in interpreting diagnostic results and influencing critical clinical decisions Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities Capability to adapt and excel in high-stakes situations, particularly in surgical contexts Empathetic approach to patient care, honoring their dignity and autonomy Benefits
