Carrying out thorough patient evaluations, arranging diagnostic testing, and developing personalized care plans. Evaluating and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions either independently or in collaboration with physicians based on your credentialing. Providing education to patients and families regarding preventive measures, wellness, and disease management. Prescribing treatments and medications as permitted by your scope of practice. Engaging in patient follow-up and managing chronic health conditions. Working across multidisciplinary teams to guarantee comprehensive, integrated care. Accurately documenting your evaluations and patient interactions within electronic medical records (EMR). Education Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Essential Certifications
Current Nurse Practitioner license in Alaska. National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to obtain these within 90 days). Skills That Distinguish You
