Certified Surgical Technologist Location: New York Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule: Mid 4x10-hour shift (13:00 - 23:30), with flexibility to work 11:00 - 21:30 as needed. Job Description: The Certified Surgical Technologist will support surgeons and surgical teams during various surgical procedures by ensuring necessary instruments and supplies are available and by maintaining a sterile environment. The role requires a deep understanding of surgical procedures and instruments, in addition to strict adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field during surgical procedures. Handle surgical instruments and supplies carefully and efficiently. Ensure proper decontamination and sterilization processes are followed. Participate in surgical time-outs and adhere to universal protocol. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the operating room. Collaborate effectively with the surgical team and communicate clearly regarding needs during procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred. Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required. Experience with a variety of surgical procedures including but not limited to laparoscopic surgeries, thyroidectomies, and orthopedic procedures. Knowledge of Aseptic Technique and Safety Protocols. Ability to use Epic electronic charting system preferred.
