Description
Conduct assessments for patients from pediatric through geriatric stages, utilizing both standard testing and personalized observations. Create tailored therapy plans that address individual challenges relating to communication, cognition, or swallowing. Administer specialized one-on-one speech therapy sessions with a focus on language, fluency, voice modulation, and safe swallowing practices. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure a well-rounded approach to care. Provide educational resources and support to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions. Engage in occasional inpatient assessments, ensuring a seamless transition of care throughout each patient's recovery journey. Maintain thorough documentation consistent with state and federal regulations, along with organizational protocols. Commit to continual professional development and peer collaboration to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of an accredited Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) prior to becoming ASHA certified if certification is not yet achieved. Certifications
Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment. Skills
Deep understanding and application of evidence-based practices across all age groups with knowledge of a range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
