Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession The radiologic technologist uses equipment and accessories, employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team The Radiology Career Ladder Policy is designed to recognize professional excellence in relation to imaging. The policy outlines the process by which the employee will be evaluated to ensure that the employee is meeting minimum job level requirements to maintain their current level on the career ladder, a mechanism for the employee to advance up the ladder or for management to adjust their level down if the employee does not meet the minimum requirements for their current level. The Radiology Career Ladder Chart gives an overview of each ladder requirements while the Radiology Career Ladder Evaluation Form is where the employee documents achievements and obtains approval to maintain same level or advance to next level.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited program of radiologic technology or trained in a hospital-based program that's AMA approved. ARRT registered or eligible – ARRT must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Texas Medical Board license for Radiologic Technologists or in process of obtaining. Total Joint & Spine Center initial and annual education: 1.5 hours
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Ø Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
