Description
The Guest Experience Associate operates in various locations in the Atlanta Botanical Garden to include selling various tickets and garden memberships and providing general information and supplies such as maps/informational brochures to guests.
Key Responsibilities
Explain and sell the benefits of garden membershipsExplain ticket prices, schedules, and garden special eventsGreet guests with a smile and a verbal welcome using an enthusiastic and pleasant mannerProvide guests with information regarding activities conducted at the gardenProvide guests with directions to food and merchandise venues, offices, and special eventsCommunicate correct product information to guests regarding coupons, special offers, and upcoming eventsAssist individuals or groups with tickets and brochuresCollect and secure payment for tickets soldKeep appropriate sales recordsPrepare till and tickets at the beginning of the dayBalance payments and tickets sold at the end of each shiftMaintain brochure and supply inventory in ticket boothsMaintain clean working environmentMaintain a working relationship with other departments to ensure up-to-date garden knowledgeAssist in other areas of the department such as trains or any location throughout the gardenAdditional duties may be assigned

High school diploma or equivalent education preferredMinimum of one year of experience in hospitality or customer service industry preferredMinimum of one year of cash handling experience preferredPrevious sales experience preferredMust be able to maintain a good working relationship with coworkersMust be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidaysMust have excellent communication skills and sense of appropriateness to converse with employees and guestsMust be able to responsibly handle large sums of moneyMust be able to speak to large crowdsMust be able to understand a personal computer's basic functions and operate itMust be able to take direction from others in a fast paced environmentMust be able to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
Sit and stand for long periods and walkMust be able to reach with hands and arms; and use hands to finger, handle, and feelFrequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Frequently required to talk and hear Must occasionally lift and/or move carry, push, or pull at least 40 lbs.Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to focus, and night vision Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly
