Description
Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods. Create individualized treatment plans addressing both immediate goals and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Implement tailored speech therapy interventions that focus on various aspects such as language, voice, fluency, and swallowing. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure coordinated care. Provide education and resources to patients and families to reinforce progress during off-clinic hours. Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to maintain seamless continuity of care. Document patient progress in accordance with legal and organizational standards while ensuring all records are meticulously kept up to date. Engage in professional development and stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through peer collaboration and continuing education. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completed if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of employment. Skills
Deep knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods suitable for all age groups, along with a strong grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Capability to customize therapy approaches according to diverse cultural and linguistic requirements. Strong judgment and analytical skills to navigate complex clinical situations.
