JOB BRIEF
The Quality Assurance Manager delegates to maintenance and implementation of the Internal System of Quality and Food Safety, to plan, coordinate, direct and implement the quality management programs, designed to ensure the preparation of the products in a manner consistent with established standards regarding food safety and quality.
ONSITE: This is an onsite position. Candidate must be able to report to our commissary located at 2323 Wirt Rd., Houston, TX 77055 USA.
JOB DUTIES
Manages Quality and Sanitation department.Manages all food safety and quality programs.Follow all Federal and local or State guidelines and manufacturing processes.On site recall coordinator key contact with all regulatory personnel.Manages plant good manufacturing practices.Verify and ensure compliance with the internal specifications of the products.Prepare Quality reports when required key performance indicators (KPI's).Detection of opportunities for Food safety and Quality improvement in the process areas.Manages correction of the deviations detected in the production process.Verify the proper handling of allergens in the different stages of the production process.Maintain Quality System.Perform required finished product testing and the effective completion of documentation and data entry.Coordinate Food Safety Inspections.Coordinate GMP and SSOP daily inspections.Responsible for food safety regarding all products and processes.Responsible for all Quality and Sanitation documentationCoordinate all program inspections (Internal Audits).Manages and administers the elements of the quality management system, including the quality manual, operating procedures and working instructions.Conducts quality assurance audits assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved.Manages all customer claims: gathers data, generates corrective actions and liaises with plant.Develops and implements a regime for incoming product inspection and acceptance/rejection criteria.Act as the focal point for all quality related issues and report to management as needed.Schedule and coordinate all internal and external audit activities, address non-conformities and maintain audit history.Evaluates and presents trends in quality data to identify potential opportunities for improvement.Organizes plant calibration programs and activities.Provides and documents standard tools for continuous improvement activities.Manages product testing and certification for both internal and external purposes.Maintains quality documentation as required.Develop and implement SQF system.Performs any other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree.10 years of Quality Assurance experience.Attention to detail.Planning and organizing.Effective decision making.TeamworkCommunication skills - verbal and written.Other duties assigned by management.Bilingual in Spanish (read, write, speak).
Physical Demands:
Occasionally- Carrying up to 10lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25lbs, lifting up to 10lbs., climbing up to 6 foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and smelling.Frequently- Standing on tile/concrete, walking on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, hearing and smelling. Continuously- Sitting, manual dexterity, talking, seeing, and hearing.
Safety Risk Factors:
Occasionally-Loud noise, cluttered floor surface, contact with skin irritant, toxic exposure (see Material Safety Data Sheets), nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, and hazardous cleaning solutions.Frequently-Twisting of back and neck, slippery floor surface, and contact with sharp objects.
Other:
Working environment involves inside store location with controlled temperatures and protection from weather conditions.
