This role reports directly to the Manager of Accounting and will have responsibility for general ledger accounting activities including manual journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses. This position will assist in maintaining the reconciliation of product billing to product orders, properly record franchise license transactions, and accruing professional fees as incurred. This position supports the timely closing of the monthly, quarterly and year closing processes and is expected to proactively identify and implement process improvements, reconciliation efficiencies, and internal control enhancements.

A Day in the Life
Prepare, record, and review weekly and monthly manual journal entries, and assist in the general ledger close process. Assignments also include responsibility over professional fees and revenue accruals, corporate center and internal department eliminations, and recording internal management fees.Ensure proper recording of franchise license transactions and multi-unit development (MUD) agreements; including reviewing amortization schedules of deferred license fees and deposits.Reconcile invoices & sales orders billed for product to the product ordering platform.Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, as assigned. Typical accounts include, but are not limited to, Accounts Receivable, Deferred Licenses Liabilities. Research, investigate, and resolve reconciling items and variances in a timely manner.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet and income statement flux analysis within defined scopes.Compile financial data and supporting schedules for financial statement footnotes, management reporting, audits, and other internal/external requests.Collaborate with colleagues on the financial planning and analysis ("FPA") team and Business Development team Ensure accurate transaction coding in accordance with the chart of accounts and budget, including detailed review of journal activity and preparation of reclassification and adjustment entries as needed. Contribute to a strong internal control environment by identifying control gaps, recommending improvements, and maintaining current documentation.Utilize accounting and reporting systems to generate reports, respond to inquiries, conduct research, and resolve accounting issues efficiently.Perform ad-hoc accounting research and analysis related to transaction activity, system discrepancies, and reporting questions.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting3-7 years of progressive, relevant experienceSolid understanding of ERP platforms (NetSuite preferred), minimum of intermediate level Excel skills (Pivots, V/XLookups, Concat, etc.)Demonstrated ability to document and maintain business processes in the form of Desktop ProceduresGeneral ledger and related balance sheet reconciliation experience.Middle Market experience
