Job Summary:
The QA Automation Engineer performs multi-disciplinary functions relating to the testing and support of Owens Corning's websites, mobile apps, configurator applications, customer catalogs, compliance programs and special projects. This role is primarily responsible for test automation. Duties include, but are not limited to, developing, and executing functional and regression test cases for applications, creating automated testing scripts, producing application test reports, helping construct a Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline and instrumenting deployed systems for self-monitoring and alerting.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for mission-critical systems, including web applications, APIs, and mobile applications Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance analysts, to ensure test automation meets the needs of project requirements Work closely with project managers to define test suites, test plans and test cases, and communicate testing progress and results Analyze test results, identify and report issues, and work with developers to resolve defects and improve software quality Use and maintain test automation frameworks, tools, and processes to continuously improve testing efficiency and effectiveness Conduct testing on both simulated and real-world systems in various test environments, including laboratory, integration, and production environments Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to software developers on best practices for testability, automation, and reliability Keep up to date with advancements in software testing and automation tools, and apply this knowledge to testing practices
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software testing methodologies, experience with test automation tools, and a strong passion for delivering high-quality software At least 3 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on test automation and a proven track record of success Strong experience with test automation tools, such as Selenium, Appium, or JMeter, and scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide creative solutions Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Passion for delivering high-quality software and a desire to contribute to software testing and automation Proficiency in creating and managing test suites, plans and cases Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
