divh2Phlebotomist I/h2pOur client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist I for their Waldorf, MD location./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliThe main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations./liliExperience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc./liliCollects and stores specimens according to established procedures./liliProperly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required./liliDemonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles./liliFully understand all of the physicians orders./liliMatches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes./liliLabel, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order./liliCheck all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct./liliPackage specimens for transport./liliStores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in/liliTheir main duties are drawing blood and processing./liliThey need to know how to draw children, adults, and elderly./liliThis is fast-paced, busy site./li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliHow many draws are required daily 50-80 patients seen a day/liliWhat is the work environment (Patient service center, doctors office) PSC/liliAre there any specialties (Pediatric, geriatric) All ages/liliPhlebotomy/liliCustomer Service/liliFlexibility/liliPhlebotomy Skills/liliComfortably drawing alone and doing hard sticks/li/ulh3Why Should You Apply?/h3ulliHealth Benefits/liliReferral Program/liliExcellent growth and advancement opportunities/li/ulpICONMA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
