As a CMA, you provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You also administer, instruct, and monitor resident medications and report to the director of nursing. You will:
Ensure proper dosage/distribution and instruct residents on application/consumption of medication per the direction of their physician Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents. Attend to the resident's needs, including; grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences. Document care in keeping with department policies
You currently:
Possess a CMA certification in the state of employment Can obtain CPR/BLS card Read, write, speak and understand English Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures Have compassion and interest in working with the senior population Communicate and interact tactfully with others
