Perform thorough patient evaluations, which include physical exams and comprehensive reviews of medical histories. Assist in the assessment and diagnosis of surgical conditions through comprehensive interpretation of imaging studies and lab results. Work closely with surgeons to formulate and implement individualized surgical treatment plans. Provide critical intraoperative support, including preparing operating rooms, ensuring optimal patient positioning, and efficiently handing off surgical instruments during procedures. Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care, including administering medications, wound management, discharge planning, and patient education. Requirements
A Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Preferably completed clinical rotations with a focus on surgery. Certifications
Current and unrestricted certification as PA-C. Mandatory BLS and ACLS certification. State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant. Skills
Extensive knowledge of surgical principles and practices in sterile technique. Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and play a key role in complex clinical decisions. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Able to excel under pressure, particularly in high-stakes surgical cases.
