Description
Assess patients across age groups, utilizing validated tools and keen observational skills. Design customized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and comprehensive communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions addressing language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work in harmony with fellow healthcare professionals-including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, and families-to ensure seamless care. Provide essential education to patients and families that empowers progress outside of clinical sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity of care. Keep precise and timely records in compliance with all legal and organizational requirements. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA. Certifications
Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in California. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based practices suitable for individuals of all ages, with sound knowledge of developmental and acquired communication disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques for varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
