Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Day Full Time NeuroICU Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards. Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating. Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit. Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system. Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership. Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments. The Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit is a fast high paced 20-bed Comprehensive Stroke unit. We specialize in the treatment and management of several neurological conditions. Our nursing staff performs comprehensive neuro assessments and interventions and is dedicated to providing superior care to all patients we are fortunate enough to care for. We have a dedicated Neuro Critical Care Nurse 24 hours a day that responds to all stroke alerts and helps to receive outside transfers. Job RequirementsRequired:Minimum One (1) year RN experience in an ICU acute care setting Current California RN License Current ACLS and BLS certifications from American Heart Association Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) from American Heart Association within 6 months of hire Preferred:One (1) year experience in Neuro and/or Trauma critical care in an acute care setting Where You'll Work Founded in 1967, Dignity Health - Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 377-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Carmichael, California.
