Job Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients across all age groups utilizing standardized assessments and observational skills. Create tailored intervention strategies that cater to individual communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs, setting both short and long-term objectives. Deliver dedicated speech therapy sessions addressing areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders. Engage collaboratively with a diverse team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members, to devise comprehensive care strategies. Provide education and resources to patients and their families, enabling progress and independence outside of the clinical environment. Occasionally assist with evaluations and inpatient therapy interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care. Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to industry regulations and organizational standards. Stay abreast of innovations in the field through continuous education and collaboration with peers. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA certified. Licensing and Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 30 days of employment. Skills and Expertise
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices for a wide range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders relevant to all ages. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adaptability in therapy approaches to meet the cultural and linguistic diversity of patients.
