Job Overview Counter Sales Associate – Geneva, NY, USA
Full‑time. Starting hourly rate: $17.75, with progression to the top end of the range within 12 months of hire.
Responsibilities
Provide auto parts answers and solutions for our retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone.
Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who enters our NAPA store.
Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast‑paced stores and welcome retail customers, engaging to provide a positive consumer experience.
Use technology (computer, cash register, telephone) and paper catalog system to process sales and inventory.
Ideal Candidate
Genuinely enjoy helping retail and wholesale customers with auto parts and service questions.
Have gained parts experience by working in the automotive industry or by tinkering with/repairing cars & trucks.
Willing to learn all things automotive if lacking background in parts.
Desire to join a team where you can learn and grow your career; opportunities are endless.
Required Qualifications
Valid driver's license.
Previous experience in a parts store, automotive industry, or willingness to learn.
High School diploma or GED. Technical or trade‑school courses or degree is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Love fast‑paced retail environments.
Great listening skills and empathy for customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision.
Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
Entirely customer‑centric (external/internal).
A.S.E. certifications.
