Job Responsibilities
Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both standardized assessments and in-depth observational methods. Craft tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders. Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies. Educate patients and families to encourage progress outside the clinical environment. Support inpatient therapy when necessary, ensuring consistent care throughout the therapy process. Keep meticulous documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational policies. Engage in continuous learning and collaboration to remain current with the latest advancements in the field. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Licenses/Certifications
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Essential Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies applicable to all age groups, coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Adaptability to modify therapy techniques based on diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
