Description
Assess patients across a broad spectrum of age groups-pediatric, adult, and geriatric-using both standardized and observational techniques. Craft tailored treatment plans that support the progression of both short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions primarily targeting communication, language fluency, voice, and swallowing skills. Collaborate closely with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, as well as caregivers and families to develop unified care plans. Guide patients and their families with educational support to help sustain advancements outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring that patient care flows seamlessly throughout the therapeutic journey. Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational policies. Engage in continuous professional development by keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field through education and peer interactions. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is preferred unless ASHA certification is already attained. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills
Strong proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques applicable to all ages, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills for effective interactions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Exemplary clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
